Anglers can do no wrong by fishing the Pit river right now. Fishing has been consistently good. The trick to good fishing on this river is moving around. Don't stick around in one run for too long. Use a lot of split shot, get the nymphs down fast. Fish the pockets, shoots, creases. High-stick and short-line technique is the best approach.
Current River Conditions: Anglers can do no wrong by fishing the Pit river right now. Fishing has been great and we expect more good reports through the month.

Bring the wading staff! We highly recommend wearing a PFD (Personal Flotation Device) too. The Pit River is a demanding river to wade thanks to slippery, bowling-ball like boulders and rocks. Keeps the crowds down!

Fishing continues to be great. October Caddis nymphs are working. So are dark colored stonefly patterns like rubber legs, Thurmanator Stones. Midge patterns in black/#18 are a good choice any day. So are #14-18 Pheasant Tail Nymphs! October Caddis are coming off at sunset and anglers are getting hooked up throwing top-water imitations such as Orange Stimulators in #8-10, Potter's Oct Caddis, and Skating October Caddis.
