The trout action has been very good from Davis Camp and along the casinos, Sunshine Peninsula, and around Rotary Park. There were 20,000 rainbows planted over three weeks in late September and early October, and many anglers have been reporting limits since. Dennis Baldwin, Bullhead City, had 10 rainbows to about 12 inches Mice Tails in the Rotary Park Area. Mack Wilson, 8, also Bullhead, had four rainbow on nightcrawlers. While most anglers are focusing on trout, the striper bite remains fair on anchovies or other cut baits. Most are small, under a pound, but some to seven pounds have been reported in the past week. Other species have been slow. Information: Riviera Marina at 928-763-8550.

The last of the 20,000 rainbow trout to be planted this season went in this week. The plants started two weeks ago were split between Rotary Park and Davis Camp. The trout action has turned on with the plants and many anglers are reporting limits of eight to 12-inch rainbows. The best bite has been in the plant areas, in front of the casinos on both sides of the river, and in the Sunshine Peninsula bay area. The fish are also spreading downstream from Rotary Park. Best action on Jakes lures and Panther Martins, but nightcrawlers and PowerBait are also good bets. Riah, Kimberly and Albert Braun, Bullhead City, had 14 trout, and Thomas Navarrete, Bullhead, had a 10-fish limit of trout to about 12 inches. The striper bite remains fair during the evenings in the casino area, Big Bend, and old community park areas. Cut baits are still the best bet, but some are showing on trout-like swimbaits since the trout plants. Also some catfish showing in this bite. Information: Riviera Marina at 928-763-8550.
