Fair to good action on smallmouth and largemouth bass on plastics and nightcrawlers on the shelves from the dam up past the power lines. Bluegill and redear have also been pretty good near the dam on nightcrawlers. Stripers are fair at the dam and from the Power Lines up to Katherine’s and most of the coves. Anchovies have been the top bait, but a few fish are showing on topwater and reaction baits early in the day. Scott Buckley, Bullhead, caught a 15.8-pound striper near the dam on anchovies. The catfish bite is fair to good in most coves, especially at night on cut baits. Information: Cottonwood Cove at 702-297-1464, Katherine’s Landing at 928-754-3245. Interesting web site for Willow Beach and Lake Mohave striper anglers: http://lakemohavestripers.com.

I took my first trip to Katherines Landing this weekend in order to scout out the southern end of the lake. First off Katherines Landing is a circus of humanity! That being said the fishing was pretty good. It's still hot right now so the fish haven't hit their fall pattern, meaning they are deep. Drop shotting is the way to go, but you have to be patient. I tried other rigs and baits, but my old go to missile baits fuse 4.4 was the key bait. The water cleared up again as well. Same as usual as far as locations, deep points, ledges and humps..
