Bates Field and Stream (501-470-1846) said bream are biting well on worms and crickets fished around lily pads in 1 foot of water near the bank at Caney Creek. Crappie are biting fairly well in 6 to 8 feet of water on minnows and jigs fished around the 89 Bridge. Bass are fair on dark-colored soft-plastic worms and shallow-running crankbaits fished around lily pads at the edge of creek bends. Catfishing is good on yo-yos and trotlines baited with large minnows, gold fish and nightcrawlers in 6 feet of water. Daniel Zajac at Gold Creek Landing (501-607-0590) said crappie have been moving and the bite is improving on jigs. Minnows are OK, but jigs seem to be the best right now. Bass are still fairly slow. Bream are biting fairly well. Catfishing is good.
