Ran out on Lake Chamlain with a buddy during some not so nice wind. The lake was rocking and we had to buckle up to get around but we were rewarded with some good fish. The largemouth were congregated on the weed edges and hammering jigs. The smallmouth were a bit more ravenous....unable to get any pictures because the wind had us rocking and rolling we caught close to 15 smallies and they were hammering the spinnerbait in the wind. Sometimes attacking in multiple times on the way in. Caught a couple on dropshot near some drop offs near points with Xzone slammers. Good day on Champlain considering how the wind picked up.

Lake Champlain Color: Stained Wind Max: 10 MPH Spent the day on Lake Champlain. The fish were very hungry. Caught about 40 bass today both smallmouth and largemouth, along with a couple of Northern Pike. The bass ranged from 1-4 lbs. Most fish were around the 3 lb area. The smallmouth were very aggressive. Most of my fish came in the 6-10 ft range on a terminator spinnerbait and had some type of connection to rocks. They were choking that thing down and hitting so hard they were almost ripping the pole out of your hand. The largemouth on the other hand were hanging around the emerging weed growth and were the complete opposite. Hardly could tell they hit. Felt like a panfish nipping. As the day progressed the spinnerbait bite slowed a bit and we continued to catch fish anywhere from 1-16 ft on tubes, dropshot and flukes. It was a great day! Just before the end of the evening I caught one more good smallmouth that had a tag on it's side. Had information to contact someone at Plattsburgh State University so I wrote down the info and will email them the news. My first tagged fish in all the years I have fished.
