Winter Haven Chain of Lakes, FL Fishing Report

Bass are in transition mode moving from shallower springtime areas to deeper summer areas. Most fish are suspended around submerged grass or other cover. Topwater and jerkbaits will produce in the cleaner lakes while spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits are better in darker water. Use colors that imitate shad as Bass are feeding heavily on them now.

The artificial bite is very good here. Fish are starting to bed and we are catching fish in the 3-4 lbs range. Try flipping sticks when fishing this lake. The water temp is about 70 degrees.

-       Deeper grass lines are place to be.

-       Water temp is around 85 degrees.

-       Cranks baits, Texas rig worms, Carolina rigs all working well.

-       Water temp around 80 degrees.

-       Rain is helping the conditions not get too out of hand.

-       Best time is early in the morning.

-The fish have been biting well on crank bait and Texas and Carolina rigs off shore. The fish are near the shell beds, ledges, and hill grass. Fishing in the morning is the best time, but is good throughout the day overall.

The conditions are pretty similar to the last report. The water has been in the mid 80s and the fish have been biting well on crank bait and Texas and Carolina rigs off shore. The fish have moved off shore, around 8-12ft deep. Been using crank baits and Texas rigworms. The temperature has dropped and is around the mid to high 70s, and best time is to go in the early morning.

Fish are in a post spawn behavior moving towards deeper water and grass areas. Fish are being caught in the morning hours with crank baits, carolina jigs, and shiners. The water seems to be pretty clean are around 76 degrees.

THere are still Lots of bedding fish in the shallows. Fish around the lilly pads and grass areas with shinners for best results. The Bite is On!!!

Warm weather is still keeping the bass in the shallow areas. Look for them in the grass areas and find their beds. Lots of 4 lbs swimming around. Try using crawl dads and creature baits.

Averaged 30-40 fish with most being around 2-3 lbs. Bigger fish up to 9 lbs are starting to show up more frequently as well. Full day artificial bait trips have been producing 15-30 fish on average. Jerkbaits, rattlebaits, spinnerbaits, and deep diving crankbaits have all been productive.

On full day shiner trips we have averaged 30-40 fish with most being around 2-3 lbs. Bigger fish up to 9 lbs are starting to show up more frequently as well. Full day artificial bait trips have been producing 15-30 fish on average. Jerkbaits, rattlebaits, spinnerbaits, and deep diving crankbaits have all been productive.

The weather may be cooling off but the bite is red hot. The water level is still a little low but better than its been in a long time. On full day shiner trips we have averaged 30-40 fish with most being around 2-3 lbs. Bigger fish up to 9 lbs are starting to show up more frequently as well. Full day artificial bait trips have been producing 15-30 fish on average. Jerkbaits, rattlebaits, spinnerbaits, and deep diving crankbaits have all been productive.
