Fishing Report
March 30, 2015

This report is for March 29th on the TN River-Wilson Lake, Alabama. I spent the day with my son fishing for smallmouth and largemouth bass. The smallmouth were not cooperating so we changed gears and went down the lake using jigs and shakyheads and caught a few nice largemouth. Wilson Lake fishing has been wide open the last few weeks with the exception of a few post cold front days to slow down the bite. We have been catching fish from the tailrace, points, bluffs, ditches and up shallow too. Now is a great time to be on the TN River Lakes. Wilson surface temp is around 57 degrees and should warm up even more the next few days. Good bait choices include spinner baits, flukes, swimbaits, crankbaits, and jigs. The topwater bite is starting and will get better with the warm up coming! We have been catching a lot of fat pre spawn bass, and the next few weeks should be very good for fishing!. Wilson Lake in North Alabama is well worth checking out, while giving you the chance to catch a giant smallmouth, or largemouth bass on any given cast. Went to the lake to fish the tailwaters on Sunday afternoon and caught a couple smallmouths and this 21 lb channel cat...The catfish made up for the slow fishing with a good fight.
