WIth the high temperatures of last week the surface temperature rose by 4 degrees pushing fish pretty low. Customer had a 20 fish day this morning on crankbaits and spinnerbaits being slow rolled on the bottom. Finding schools of bait and then slowly retrieving through them is consistently providing hookups.

Water Temp: 61-70 F |
1 fish caught | Lunker: 10lb Largemouth Bass using a Gamakatsu Live Worm
We got out to Vail lake around 3p.m. on sunday August 3 2014. The cloud cover was dense then started to rain on and off all afternoon. Before it started raining the fishing was extremely slow. We were about ready to leave but thought we would give it another 20 minutes. The rain started and the fish bite was off the hook! Or should I say on the hook! Was using a simple rig with a single hook with two live worms (they only had small worms at the store) no weights. It was non-stop every cast we would get a hit. Then the big one came! Which I thought was just gonna be an average size since it didn't give me a big fight. When I got this thing near the shore I couldnt believe my eyes. This bass was the biggest lake fish I have ever seen! He ended being a little over 10 pounds. I should have got him taxidermyed. We ended up catching over 40 between the two of us. What a perfect day!
