Trinity Bay, TX Fishing Report

Trout are good for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Best fish have come from the wells when the wind allows. Redfish are good on live bait around the reefs.

There has been reports of reds and specs from all over the bay .I took a family out and the 3 1/2 year old son got his 1st fish.

Caught 3 specs (sea trout) in the 16-20 inch range. We used live shrimp under poppin korks.

Caught 8 blue catfish in the 2.5 - 3.5 lbs range using live shrim on the bottom.

Some reds are being caught but it is on the hit or miss side. 

Black drum are being caught in the houston ship channel using live shrimp and crab.

Catching trout out on the reefs along with redfish. They are all being caught on artificials. The average length for trout is 19 inches and redfish are in the same range. Water is a bit on the cloudy side so bring dark colors.

Catching 16-24 inch trout

20 inch black drum, and 2 blue catfish that where 18 inches each all on artificial baits.

The trout have been hitting top water in trinity bay. A few reds also have been caught. With te windso high we are unable to do and fishing right now but as soon as the wind lets us we will back out there again .

Trout are fair for drifters working pods of shad and mullet, and better in the channels. Redfish are good at the spillway on crabs and mullet.

went out in Trinity bay on the 18th and only got six Sheep head. Wind was down but it kikked up as the day went on.

On Sat.  I took two people out to Trinity river were we got into the sand trout , we endedup with 24 trout that were from 14 to 18 inches all inall it was a good day of fishing .

The redfish are moving around flounder are making their move to the gulf good fishing at the spillway

Sorry  it has been some time that I report on any water. I have been trying to recover from shoulder surery, but I have heard that the red fish and flounder and the specs are hitting . With this cool weather we are having the biger flounders will be moving in to the shallow water. good fishing everyone .

All that I hear is that the bull reds and the flounder are starting to run in trinity bay and all over. hope to get a frist hand check next weekend I have a trip on sat. wiil try to have pics.

I fished the north jetties were we caught a 38" bull red they are starting their run. We move from the jetties to the ship just the other side fo sea wolf park were we got intothe sand trout, we ended the day with 25 that were 15to17 inchs. On tue a friend of mine was on Trinity bay were he got some flounders they also are showing up.

got out on the water on tue with a friend we fish fora half a day and got some croakers some sand trout and some under size specs.  good luck and good fishing .

I got to fish Trinity bay on sunday and monday on my trips we were able to get some reds ,some specs , and flounders. Down in texas city at the dike the sharks have been biting good.

The fish are returning to trinity baynow that they are not blasting in trinity bay they are in east bay now on monday there was a limit of reds got and on tue. there was a limit of reds and trout got.I am going to be out of pocket for some time ,I have tore a rotator cuff, I have to get it fix. I had a trip yesterday, we fish Trinity Bay,caught some blue catfish and some nice size croakers . We were stop by the game warden and he was nice. Water was rough in the morning but  got better as the day went on.We were off the water by three.all  in all it was a good day to be on the water.

Got to take the wife fishing today. We started ot at the mouth of reds bayou were we  don't get one bite so we  moved to another spot that I fish and we could not buy a bite so we made one more move were we caught all the fish at . We got two reds one waas 16" and the other was 20"  that we kept. We also kept three blue cats one was 14", one was 16" and the last one was 20". The water was running hard thought long island bayou and the Trinity river
