     SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES: Just fair action with both trout and catfish showing in the catch now. Top trout catch was a stringer of six Lightning Trout landed by Al Rotta, Lomita, that weighed 23-4 total. His best fish was a 10-10, all on Lip RipperZ jigs. Jason Michaels, Pasadena, landed four rainbows for a 24-8 total and his best was 8-8. First catfish plant of the season went in last week. Andy Arredondo, Moreno Valley, caught 10 catfish totaling 23-10 on mackerel soaked in garlic from Chris' Pond. The lake complex is closed every Thursday (the day of the weekly plants) to give the fish a chance to acclimate and spread around the lake.      SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES: Good trout action continues with weekly plants on Thursday. Top fish this past week was a 13-8 landed by Kevin Smith, Harbor City, on a Lip RipperZ worm at the Bubble Hole. Rudy Ochoa, Whittier, landed an 11-8, while Tony Lopez, East Los Angeles, had an 11-pounder. There will be a blue catfish plant this week and 24-hour fishing Friday and Saturday nights this week. The lake complex is closed every Thursday (the day of the weekly trout plants) to give the fish a chance to acclimate and spread around the lake.
