3 fish caught | Lunker: 2lb Largemouth Bass using a Cotton Cordell Plug
This was my first fishing trip on the rapphannock and it was a blast! My buddy and i both have kayaks that we have out fitted fr fishing and we routinely do float trips on local river, mainly the Shenandoah, but the Rappahannock was great today! i caught 30 fish total, 20 bass, and 10 sunfish. I started off the day throwing a Cotton Cordel Big O in crawdad color and caught a nice 2 pound largemouth, that was the only action i saw on that lure. We saw fish hitting the surface all morning so i tied on a very small XPS popper in bleeding shad color and caught 2 decent small mouth and 2 sunfish. Then the topwater bite turned off. After that i ties on a modified small silver colorado spinner-bait where instead of a skirt i use a chartreuse grub. I mainly threw that the rest of the day and every fish i caught after i tied it on was on this lure. I will add that this is the second time i randomly tried that lure, once here and once on the Shenandoah, both in the last 2 weeks, and both times i have done phenomenal with it!
