PYRAMID: DFW trout plant last week and four weeks ago. Schools of trout are cruising the shoreline and showing for anglers tossing small spinners or spoons. The bait bite is only good the first day or two after the plants. Stripers are fair with most fish from one to four pounds. Best action has been for anglers slow-trolling or fishing cut baits at the dam or channel. A few catfish are showing on cut baits. Largemouth bass have been fair with the best action on plastics and reaction baits. Some largemouth bite is pretty much all in deep water now on jigging spoons. Bluegill and redear slow. There is a health warning about eating fish from here. More information at this link: http://www.oehha.ca.gov/fish/so_cal/pyramidlake2013.html. PYRAMID: DFW trout plants last Friday and three weeks ago. There are far fewer stripers busting baitfish on the surface, but still some flurries of topwater or near-surface action. A few catfish are showing on cut baits. Largemouth bass have been fair with the best action on plastics and reaction baits. Some bass are still up chasing bait, but cold weather and cooling water conditions has more and more fish in deeper water and showing on jigging spoons. Bluegill and redear getting little pressure, but the bite on small fish has been pretty decent. There is a health warning about eating fish from here.
