Old Hickory Lake is starting to turn on big time! Water temperatures in the mid to upper 60s in the creeks. The clarity is stained due to recent rains. Found most fish suspended in 8-15 foot of water. Bass and crappie were caught around laydowns and points. Did find some areas that bass are beginning their spawn rituals. It is time to schedule your guided fishing trip with Mike Davis! Give me a call!

Water temperatures are finally starting to rise! With the warmer temperatures and wind in the past week, water temps are in the low 50s. Water levels are around normal. Look for things to continue to improve as we are forecasted nice warm weather this coming weekend. How about mid to upper 70s! The prespawn bite is turning on. Bass are being caught on jigs, crankbaits, carolina rigs, swimbaits, and lizards

Lake levels are coming back down to near normal pool 445.10 after the recent rains and clearing up. Water temps have dropped considerably after the below normal temperatures. Reported lake temperatures in the mid 40s. US Army Corps have generators running so there is current. Found fish to be suspended so drop shots, finesse worms, slow rolling spinnerbaits, jigs, lizards, and crankbaits. Look for the lake to rebound as we start warming up with air temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Remember to be safe out on the water and wear your life jacket. Tight Lines

Water temperatures have been falling due to the cold snap we have had lately. Most areas in the mid 40s. Found a couple of areas with upper 40s. Fishing is slow. Slow roll spinnerbaits, crankbaits, jigs, jerkbaits, and finesse worms are your ticket for these conditions. Remember to wear your life jacket in these cold water situations. Also remember that your 2013 fishing license is now due as of March 1. Tight Lines Everyone

Water clarity on Old Hickory Lake is excellent with temperatures in the mid 50s.  Weather was windy with temperatures in the low to mid 70s and blue bird skies.  The bite was tough all day.  Bass were caught on soft plastics and crankbaits.   Jig bite was nonproductive.  Best weight was eight pounds.  Good luck to all of you and be safe!  Wear your life jackets!

Today, I had to pleasure of fishing a 6 hour guided trip with Gary and Tommy of the Nashville area.  With water clarity normal for Old Hickory and the water temperature 63 degrees, we set out to catch bass.  We caught several largemouth, smallmouth, and Kentucky bass on spinnerbaits, squarebill crankbaits, and soft plastics.  Water depths were ranging from 2 foot to 25 foot of water tight to cover.

The creek bite is taking off with crankbaits and buzzbaits accounting for the majority of fish. The bite should continue to improve over the next weeks with pods of fish being found. Generally if you find 1 you will catch several as they are moving around in packs and some schooling action is occuring. Look for fish to relate to hard cover and keep your eyes peeled for minnow activity and coorelating fish busting. Keep a topwater handy for schoolers.

Hey guys! Hope everybody is catching em! Cheatham is on fire right now. I found a lot of fish on the main river rocks and mouth of the creeks. The shad were very tightly balled up and fish would school around these shad all day long. Largemouth and Kentucky Spotted Bass were absolutely killing the Strike King KVD Sexy Dawg. I also caught them on Strike King jigs slow crawling at the mouth of the creeks, and drop shots at the mouth of the creeks. Set back off the mouths, throw back in, and hold on! Hope this helps and go catch a big one!

Hope everybody is doing well and catching fish! Sorry about being late on the fishing report. Tournaments have had me extremely busy. Bass starting to migrate to the back of the creeks. Fish the secondary points, transition points, and points of the grass near a creek channel or some type of deeper water that fish can use to travel by. Patches of grass, secondary points, flats near deeper water is all good. Fish any transition areas with spinnerbaits, crank baits, and buzz baits. I\'ve been catching fish on the Strike King double buzz, Strike King frog, Strike King spinnerbaits, and finesse worms. Hope this helps, and go catch a big one!

Old Hickory lake is a hard lake to fish. The fish move a lot. Which makes it fun. Tube jigs seem to work well.
