Oconto River, WI Fishing Report

The River has been fishing well.  Flows still at 545 cfs  with rain today.   Reports pouring in of guys landing browns as large as 15 pounds.  Still fishing BIG streamers on a sink tip.  We are all fishing switch or spey rods and swinging these fish up.  Give us a shout with any questions.  GET OUT AND FISH.

The River is fishing very well.  Lots of big migratory browns being caught this fall.  We have had just a fantastic fall so far.  Winter is knocking on the door but many of the fish will remain in the River all winter long.  Get out and fish now. 

The water is finally falling!  The river is at 1,200 cfs today and is fishing.   Smallmouth from the bay are moving in and we are catching fish.

Water is still a bit high but fish are moving for flies. Pike and smallmouth are out and about are taking flies. Be patient as water is still cold so fish slower. 

Water is high and should tapper down in a few days or so. Look for the warm water fishing to kick off towards the end of the month for smallmouth. Smallmouth action can be fast and exciting so this is time of year that we start to get pretty excited about the upcoming season.

River is just huge!  Bigger flows than ever.  We need it to stop raining and snowing for a few days.  Steelhead and smallmouth in rivers, just cant get to them.

The Oconto is running at 2000 cfs and is raging.  Steelhead are in the system and the suckers have also moved in.  Dangerous wading right now.  Mosf of the snow has melted and rivers should start droping soon.  We want the rain to hold off for a few days so we can get back on the water.

The Oconto is running huge right now.  Steelhead are in but it is not wadable at this time.
