Fishing Report
June 23, 2014
Fished the Encinitas Surf on Sat, June 21st. Arrived at roughly 11:45 am. The tide had just bottomed out at low and was starting to make it's way back up. The water was very clear to start, but changed to slightly cloudy as the tide rose higher. 1st 15 minutes spent digging, and filling up my board short pocket with sand crabs then hook in the water. I've had much less productive and much more productive days, thus the 3 star rating. First fish was 10 inch Yellowfin Croaker. Gave one short run, then coaxed him in. Second and third fish were both Corbina. The first slightly larger hitting 12 inches. Lots of Barred Surf Perch around as always, but again not biting like I've seen them do. Landed about 8-10 of those. Round up was positive as I did land the target species, though naught of real notable size. Ended up keeping the Corbina and Yellowfin which made great Seviche that evening. :)
