The perch fishing on Muskegon Lake has been pretty good when the wind stops blowing and we can get out there. Its that time when the walleye action around the Muskegon pier starts to heat up. Trolling stick baits in the evening is the best. If anyone is interested in trying for a mess of perch on Muskegon Lake or Walleyes around the pier heads in Lake Michigan, we have trips open.

Perch fishing continues. Though many are small, anglers are still taking the occasional fish measuring 10 inches. Be careful along the shoreline as the ice starts to deteriorate.

Muskegon Lake still does not have safe ice. There are guys that are getting out there but there is only 2-3" of ice in most spots and less then that in some. With all the snow that has the ice covered and another big snow storm rolling in today, I am starting to have my doubts that we will be running any perch trips again this season on Muskegon Lake. The Pike fishing has been good on many of the inland lakes with safe ice.

The ice on Muskegon Lake is NOT safe and it is starting to look like we may not have a icefishing season again this year. Keep checking back, I'll keep the conditions updated.

Muskegon Lake perch fishing has been on FIRE!!! Limit catches are coming every trip out. There is a little sorting but 2/3 of the perch we are catching are 7.5" and bigger. We are not getting any real giants but a few fish everyday that are 11-13" Lets keep our fingers crossed we get good ice this season. If we do it will be a banner year!!! We have bought a new Snowmobile and ATV this season as well as new Otter ice tents. We will be helping with all 3 of Mark Martin's Ice Fishing Schools again this season and there are still a few openings left. Whether you have all your own equipment or need to use ours we have you covered. Contact Kyle today and we can get you all set up. --- 4 Day Ice-Fishing Schools: Lake Gogebic U.P. Is producing mainly chinook salmon 45 to 70 feet down in waters 50 to 100 feet deep. Anglers are using orange and green spoons or green and white spinnies and flies. No pier or perch fishing to report.

Haven't been out yet due to work on my boat, but some reports say that the salmon are just off the pierheads and the bass, perch etc. are coming in closer to shore to spawn.
