Hello,

I would like to take a moment and itroduce ourselves to all of you. My name is Chris Winchester and I am the new manager of Four Season Sports in Red Wing , MN.  I am an avid angler and waterfowler. I love to pursue all species of fish although I tend to chase Bass, Walleyes and Flathead Catfish here on Pools 3, 4 and 5 as well as Smallmouth on Mille Lacs.

Either myself or Travis Smerud (Assistant Store Manager) will do our best to post accurate and up to date reports on these waters. please feel free to email or call us with any questions or for the latest info.

The river has finally started to receed and the fishing has been getting better each day. For the first time in several weeks we have been hearing of limits of Walleyes coming from Lake Pepin. Most of the fisherman are either dragging Leeches and Crawlers or Trolling. Shad Raps, Lindy river Rockers and Storm Rattlin Thin Fins are the baits of choice. Colors, Fire Tiger, White, Chartreuse seem to be the best.

Flathead and Channel Cats are being caught quite regularly with larger fish showing up each week as we approach the spawn. The next couple of weeks are your best chance to land a true fish of a lifetime here on the river. There will be several Flatheads over 40#'s caught in the next couple of weeks.

Bass - Both Smallmouth and largemouth Bass fishing is going very well. Most of the fish are being caught on topwaters like Frogs and Poppers.

Panfish - The Crappies and Bluegills are all done spawning now and are very hungry. Reports of Large Crappies are coming from Lake Pepin. Areas like Maiden Rock seem to have the best bite.

Thanks for your time, Chris Winchester
