Fishing has been fair to good on at the Mississippi/Ohio river confluence with only cloudy water prior to the rainfall to the north. Extremely muddy water is expected in the next few days and will make for poor fishing. Using bottom baits including blood balls, liver, and night crawlers in the late evening just before dark until 2 am resulted in 2 small blue catfish, 2 large snapping turtles, 1 very large soft shell turtle, and before dark several bluegill. Initial placement was 20 ft from the bank and after dark placement was moved out into the main channel. While the fishing is fair it is not at the quality as it normally is and likely will not return to normal until the muddy flood waters come in and are push south.

2 fish caught | Lunker: 4lb Channel Catfish using a Live Worm
Fishing the Mississippi in the main channel as just north of sunset marina.
6:30 AM start time but should have hit the water @ 5:00 AM as the bite came to a screeching halt @ 8 AM. Floating a night crawler set @ 18" 2 foot off shore was producing some nice Cats. Noticed some action on shad so rigged up a white bucktail with silver spinner. Pitched it up around some structure resulting in a half dozen nice stripies.
