Water temperature is 80 degrees. Bluegill fishing has come alive. Everyone that has been using night crawlers are catching fish. The Bass bite has been amazing. Everyone who is using Shiners have been seeing an average size of about 3lbs. Most guys using plastics have had some luck but nothing to really report, most have stated that the Bass bite has gone to the birds.

County staff checked 80 anglers who reported 163 bass to 4.8 pounds, 14 bluegill to 1.1 pounds, and 16 channel cats to 5.6 pounds. Marina staff report the bluegill bite is very good with a lot of pan-sized fish on nightcrawlers, wax worms, meal worms, and crickets. There is also a fair to good catfish bite on most cut baits, while the bass have been good on live shiners. Otay is open on a Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule and boat rentals are available all three days. General lake information: 619-465-3474 or www.sandiego.gov/water/recreation/.
