WOHLFORD: The trout bite was good after last Wednesday’s plant, and the action lasted into the weekend. Top fish reported was a 10-4 caught by Bill Alaksin, Temecula, on rainbow PowerBait in Boat DockCove. Dennis Young, Valley Cneter, had an 8-3 rainbow, while Sam Avila, Vista, landed an 8-2. Inflated nightcrawlers or a variety of PowerBait have been the best bets for the rainbows. Catfish are fair to good on cut baits, especially mackerel or chicken liver. Caprece Pressley, Escondido, landed an 8-8 catfish. Bass are still spotty with light pressure, but the fish have been moving shallower this past week.
