Catfish are being caught throughout the lake. Lake Wohlford cats respond well to cut mackerel or chicken liver. Drop by the ranger station for a dough-bait recipe that works well on both catfish and carp.
The bass fishing continues to improve. Kevin Gallego of San Marcos caught and released a 9.10# Bass Sunday on a bladed swim-jig near the west buoys. Omar Martinez of Valley Center caught and released a 6.90# bass Saturday on a dark blue senko worm in Boat Dock Cove. Bass can be found lurking around structure. Shad raps, crawdads, and dark colored plastics are some of the best baits for catching bass.
