Rental boat reservations: 619-668-2050 or ssmith@sandiego.gov.     WOHLFORD: The big double plant of 3,000 pounds of trout last week made for good fishing into the weekend with a lot of limits reported, especially in Boat Dock Cove and Oakvale Cove. Top trout of the week was an 11.35-pounder caught by Lee Vietor, Valley Center, on spring green PowerBait off the Senior Shoreline. John Hansen, Escondido had an 11.15-pound rainbow. There was another planted for this week. Best action has been on the various green PowerBaits or inflated nightcrawlers. Bass are slow, but an occasional quality fish is showing on a big trout-like swimbait. Other species slow. For information contact the Ranger Station at 760-839-4346 or go to the website at www.wohlfordlake.com     DOANE POND: No recent DFW plants.     DIXON LAKE: Last week’s schedule trout plant was cancelled, but it was supposed to go in Wednesday this week. The trout bite has been slow to fair this past week with most of the rainbows showing from 30-plus feet of water off Pier 1, Whisker Bay, and Jack Creek Cove. Trout Cove has been slow. Nightcrawlers and green-glitter PowerBait have been the best baits this past week, but a few fish are still showing on small jigs. Other species are mostly slow with only the odd larger catfish or a few largemouth bass showing. Lake information: 760-839-4680 or www.dixonlake.com.
