2 fish caught | Lunker: 1lb White Crappie using a Minnow

Fishing was difficult with the wind out of the north 15 to 20 mph but we was able to catch some crappie in yellow creek and spring creek on minnows trolling and when locating them stacked up down lining with a 2 hook rig .
Special note : my daughters boyfriend caught a juvenile small mouth bass thought it was a strain of bluegill at first but showed to some other fisherman and they thought it was a small mouth !!
Please chime in on the small mouth if you have caught any in Wiess Lake.

Bass fishing is Fair and they are on the old creek and river channel ledges and deeper humps, Carolina rigged plastics, Texas rigged Senko worms and Jigs are producing well right now. The Alabama Rig is catching fish also. The ledges in Little River and the Chattooga River are producing a lot of good Bass.

Crappie fishing is Great and they are being caught in Cowan Creek, Little River and the Chattooga River and Little Spring Creek. The bays off the Coosa River near Riverside Campground are starting to produce some Crappie, The log jams on the main Coosa channel near Riverside are producing some Crappie.

Long line trolling with Jiffy Jigs in 1/24 oz in colors JJ08, JJ13, JJ24, JJ25,JJ41 and Marks, Ice Blue color, is the way to catch these winter fish, They can also be caught on a float and fly technique,  live minnows under a slip float is also producing some fish.

Striper fishing Poor and most of the fish have left the main lake making their spring run up the Coosa river, I have not had any reports on the upper Coosa river

Catfish are biting good in the deeper flats of the lake on cut bait.
