The fishing on Toho has picked up the past couple of weeks using live bait. Yesterday I took out some new customers for a half day in the morning. We boated 32 bass in 4 hours with some nice fish to 4.5lbs. No monsters but a ton of action and a great time! Previous trips this week however have yielded some bigger bass with a good number of fish between 5 and 6.5lbs and one bass a tick under 8lbs. We are averaging around 20 to 23 fish in a half day right now. Things are looking up and I am looking forward to the best big bass season yet! If you are out and chunking artificials, try a Carolina-rigged trick worm or a lipless crankbait. These have worked best when I have been artificial bait fishing.

While most enjoying fishing the off shore structure, Toho is still producing good bass early in the morning up shallow in the grass. The better fish have come on top and flipping the grass quickly looking for a reaction bites. Most of the fish I have found are shutting down by the time it starts getting hot outside. Overall, good trips early in the mornings.
