LAKE OCONEE IS FULL, 59 TO 65 DEGREES

Bass fishing is good. The lake is full, with a light stain up the rivers clear on the main lake. The water temperature is 59 to 65 degrees. The best bite is on small crank baits fished around the same wood and docks. Use your Lowrance to locate the large schools of bait in the coves and pockets. Start at the mouth of the creeks and pockets and work your way to the back. If there is no bait present then move to another cove. A white spinner bait fished around any rip rap will also put extra fish in the boat.

Striper/Hybrid report by Mark Smith of Reel Time Guide Service, Phone 404 803 0741 orreeltime@bellsouth.net

Striper/Hybrid fishing is good. Use your Lowrance to locate the large schools of bait and the stripers will be close by. Live bait is the best way to put fish in the cooler. Over the past week down lines have been the best producer. Shad and Shiners are working equally well. Most of the fish are between 10 and 20 ft. deep. Most of the fish are from mid lake to the dam.

Crappie fishing is good. Use your Lowrance to locate the schools of fish in the timber in the mouths of the major creeks. When you find the fish drop a minnow down to their location. Spider rigs have been the best producer.

LAKE OCONEE IS FULL, 61 TO 67 DEGREES

Bass fishing is good. The Lake is full, light stain up the rivers, clear on main lake. Water temperature is 61 to 66 degrees. Start at the mouths of the major creeks and large pockets. Target docks and wood structure with a crank bait. Work to the back of the creek or pocket as the bait and fish move deeper into the creeks. A shaky head fished under the same docks will also draw strikes. Georgia Power has been pulling water most afternoons and the fish are stacking up on the bridge rip rap and taking the same crank baits.

Striper/Hybrid report by Mark Smith of Reel Time Guide Service, Phone 404 803 0741 orreeltime@bellsouth.net

Striper/hybrid fishing is good: The fish are in the mouth of most mid lake coves and creeks. Use your Lowrance to locate the large schools of bait and the stripers will be close by. The fish have been feeding on live bait along with umbrella rigs and spoons. Over the past week all these baits have been working well.

Crappie fishing is good: The fish are starting to move into the major creek all over the lake. They are in the timber and rooming over the mouths of the creeks. Use your Lowrance to locate the schools and then drop a live minnow into the schools. Spider rigging is also working when you find the schools.
