Usually it's my idea to go fishing but early morning on a bright Saturday morning my 4 year old son brought up the idea to go fishing. I was thinking lets just go for pan fishes like bluegills and crappie. But since it's spring I had to bring my bass gears. While I was watching my son catch some I notice this shadow in the stained water using my polarized glasses. I tired my go to bait, the Yamamoto Senko. After about 3 casts and showing my son the bass I finally landed it. It weigh almost 4 1/4 - 4 1/2 lbs. it was a bedding bass that moved in shallow to start it's spawning cycle. After a bout 2 hours we caught. 3 bass and about 35 blue gills. I asked my son what he wanted to do with the bass we caught and he said to release it so it could get bigger and that we can catch it later. I guess he learned the way of catch and released. Lake Murray has a 5 bass limit but we decided to released them anyways.
