Went out fishing this weekend with the son and after a good 4 hours of putting in some solid work and not even getting a bite, we left.   We tried everything from Powerbait, to trout magnets, to swim baits, to rooster tails   to cast masters, anything at all from shore..  and my fish finder, was showing up lots and lots of weeds and that was it..   Good luck guys

SILVERWOOD: The trout action remains very good thanks to DFW trout plants again this week and each of the past five weeks. The best bite has been in the Sawpit area and Miller Canyon on PowerBait, nightcrawlers, or small jigs. Stripers remain pretty good off the dock, in Miller Canyon, the Chemise area and at the dam, and Cleghorn, mostly on cutbaits and lug worms. Some bigger fish are coming in for the trout. Allan Cole, Henderson, landed a 9-1 striper on an A.C. Plug. Catfish remain fair to good in Miller Canyon, Cleghorn, and at the dam. Steve Modzelewski, Moreno Valley, had a 9-13 catfish on sardines in Miller, while Adam Carrillo, Norco, had cats at five and three pounds. A few crappie are starting to show off the docks on meal worms. Other species slow. Anglers should be aware of health warnings for the consumption of fish from this lake because of high PCB and mercury levels in the fish flesh and skin. Here’s the direct link to a PDF brochure explaining consumption recommendations: http://www.oehha.ca.gov/fish/so_cal/pdf_zip/081013KioskadvySilverwood.pdf. Dock fishing is allowed for $3 for adults, $2 for kids and seniors. Private boats must be inspected for zebra and quagga mussels. Boats with wet lower units will be turned away. Boats inspected and tagged at Diamond Valley and Perris will be allowed at Silverwood. The park is open seven days a week.      BIG BEAR LAKE: Fair tout action with water temperatures starting to cool, and there was a DFW plant three weeks ago. Shore anglers getting a few fish on lures or floating baits fished in 12 to 22 feet of water. Bass fishing remains slow with the bass are holding in deeper water and taking jigs or plastics. Panfish and catfish slow. For more fishing information: Big Bear Sporting Goods 909-866-3222.
