Lake Erie Walleye- Bass and Perch fishing Report July 22, 2014 Western Basin- Port Clinton Walleye fishing has been spotty meaning some are some are not. That pretty much sums up a typical day fishing most any where. Its rock picking time for the reef hounds. It takes a crew that can stand and cast to catch these walleye along with a experienced skipper that knows how to pick apart a reef. N of Niagara to Rattlesnake to the Kidney - G Can - 24 to 26 feet Near Toledo Intake - The dumping grounds off Huron and old international C can on the border east of Kelly s Island Shoal about 3 miles are giving up spotty catches of walleye. Perch fishing season is here - reports are coming in - Descent size with Limit Catches of Perch from N NE of Niagara Reef about 1 to 3 miles also West of Rattle Snake 1 mile or so. Small mouth Bass fishing Very Good - soft craws and big minnows. We have been fishing deeper waters in the western basin reef complex due to clear water. 16 to 20 feet. When the water has a nice stain on it go shallower. The Bass Islands - Pelee Island and around Kelly s Island. www.coevannacharters.com

Lake Erie has given us another great week. Walleye fishing has remained really good. Pulling worms on Avon Point, trolling cranks in tight as well as open water spoon trolling all working. Lime greens, golds as well as purple all working. Locals and charters have all taken limits from Vermilion to Avon Point with both the South edge and North edge of the dump being good as well. There has been good schools of fish along the shoreline as well as off shore but keep in mind these fish are moving up and down in the water column with every passing front. Perch fishing has decent with best catches coming off Beaver Creek and Avon Point area in 39 feet. White bass fishing off the pier heads has also remained good with big schools arriving every morning and late afternoon.
