Perch Fishing Report Lake Erie Western Basin, Port Clinton Perch Fishing has been good the most consistent bite has been in Canadian waters on the Wheel and Sheriton Point Pretty much a given catching limits of nice size perch. East of Chickenollie and east NE of Kelly s Shoal, Old International C Can has a good perch bite. Rattlesnake - Green - Clinton Reef - D can good perch fishing how ever take extra bait a lot of sorting going on in these areas. Smallmouth Bass fishing report Bass fishing around Pelee off Sheraton Point, Old Light House on the NE Corner of the Island and along the East side has been ok. Best depths 12 to 16 feet. Ohios western basin reefs is dealing with to clean of water and unless there is a late season algea bloom I don't have a lot of confidence in a strong bass bite. How ever in this case the microsistis algae will help if it stays on the reefs as the small mouth bass like it. Walleye fishing report Walleye fishing has been spotty both the open water bite and rock bite U.S. and Canadian waters. Things were looking up a week or so ago and then the lake had a 4 day wind event and the walleye have not been on very well since. Spotty reports are coming in of nice size walleye in the open waters off Huron near the Sand Bar and weather buoy. With the water temperature very cool for this time of year the walleye bite will switch gears soon. Its a combination of water temperature and the days growing shorter that brings them back west and walleye can easily move 10 to 15 miles in 24 hours. That being said we expect them in striking range any day now. We have moved to our fall Trophy Fishing docks at Catawba Landing. www.coevannacharters.com

Lake Erie has been good to all from East to West. perch fishing has fired up from Lorain to Sheffield Lake. Look for fish in 43-49 feet. Limits have been coming and size is good. Shiners have been readily available. Walleye fishing has also been good North off Lorain dump to the Vermilion weather buoy. Avon Point is also producing limits of nice eyes. Pulling harnesses along bottom or run Reef Runners deep have been best bet. Pink ,purple as well as green have been best. There are still a few smallies left in the river as well white bass and cat fishing is good off local pier heads.Just a reminder the Eric Lewis Memorial Tournament is coming Aug.23. Don't forget are fishing hotline 1-440-949-8935.
