Lake of the Arbuckles, OK Fishing Report

Elevation 7 ft. below normal, water 63-70 in afternoons and in upper creek arms. Crappie good on chartreuse/white small 1/16 oz. jigs at 6-7 ft. and around the dock early and late. White bass being caught on small crankbaits and small wiggle-tailed grubs along most rocky banks; they are spawning. Bass being caught on jigs, tubes, crankbaits and most worm rigs. Elevation 7 ft. below normal, water 63. Crappie being caught on small chartreuse/white jigs at 4-6 ft. in back of coves and around docks early and late. White bass being caught on rattletraps and small wiggle-tail grubs along the south bank and riprap along the dam. Bass being caught on shaky head worms, drop shot rigs, crankbaits and bass jigs in green pumpkin. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water 58. Fish are still on the move from deep water to shallow water. Crappie slow around docks and fair on swim jigs at 10-12 ft. White bass are scattered and best up the creek in the shallows under the gulls and terns. Bass slow on crankbaits and jerk baits and fair on jigs and Alabama rigs. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water 54 and clear except in far upper ends of creek. All fish are moving from deep water to shallow but not there yet. Crappie slow around docks and scattered around the lake at 25-30 ft. around brush piles. White bass are in the upper creek arms and off ledges of creek channels at 25 ft. Elevation 5 3/4 ft. below normal, water 51 and clear to stained in upper creek arms and back of feeder coves. Crappie slow around docks and fair on minnows and jigs scattered around the lake at 25 ft. around brush piles. White bass are on the move and being caught at 20 ft. in back of creek arms off creek channel ledges. Bass being caught on crankbaits, jerk baits and Alabama rigs off points and bluffs. Elevation 5 3/4 ft. below normal, water48 and clear in the main lake and stained in the feeder coves and upper end of creeks. Crappie slow around docks early morning; moving from deep water. White bass also on the move, some are in the upper creek arms, gulls and terns will sometimes show you where to fish. Bass slow on crankbaits in shad patterns, jigs, jerk baits and Alabama rigs. Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water 50 and clear to stained in the upper creek arms. Crappie good around docks in early morning and being caught on chartreuse/brown jigs and CC Spoons while moving from deep water; use of locators important in locating movement. White bass are also on the move; they can be in 30-40 ft. along creek channel bends or at 5 ft. chasing shad; gulls are a clue they are in the shallows. Bass being caught on crankbaits, jerk baits, Alabama rigs and jigs at 5-20 ft. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water 51 and clear to stained in the upper arms of the lake. Crappie good on brown/chartreuse jigs and CC Spoons at 35 ft. off ledges and brush piles and fair around docks early morning. White bass being caught on CC Spoons under the gulls and on long Johns in the upper creek arms. Bas being caught on crankbaits, jerk baits, jigs and Alabama rigs at 12-20 ft. on cooler days and in shallows on sunny days. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water 43-45 and clear. Crappie slow to fair on minnows and jigs in chartreuse and white at 42-52 ft. near the dam. Crappie slow off docks. Crappie fair on white/chartreuse 1/8 oz. jigs or minnows at 25-35 ft. off brush piles in the lake and slow around docks. White bass good on CC spoons along mid-lake knolls and creek channel bends out from the dam. Bass fair on jerk baits, crankbaits and drop-shot rigs and fair on Alabama rigs. Elevation 5 1/2 ft. below normal, water 46 and clear in the lake and stained in upper creek arms. Crappie fair on minnows and white/chartreuse jigs at 25 ft. around brush piles and slow around docks. White bass good on CC spoons along mid-lake knolls and creek channel bends out from the dam. Bass fair on jerk baits, crank baits and drop-shot rigs and fair on Alabama rigs. Elevation 5 1/4 ft. below normal, water 48 and clear. Algae bloom noticeable on calm days. Crappie fair on chartreuse or white jigs at 25+ ft., crappie slow around docks. White bass good on CC spoons in mid lake drop offs & channel bends at 22-45 ft. Bass fair to good using crankbaits, jerk baits, drop shot rigs, and Alabama rigs. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Elevation 5 1/4 ft. below normal, water 53 and clear to stained in upper arms. Algae bloom on surface. Crappie slow on docks, brushpiles in 25+ ft. water, good using white or chartreuce jigs and minnows. Sand bass have moved to the knolls and dropoofs in midlake out from dam, ¾ oz. CC spoon near drops. Bass fishing can be good using crankbaits, jerkbaits and dropshot jigs, Alabama rigs also working. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Elevation 5 ft. below normal, water 55 and clear to stained in upper arms. Algae bloom present on calm days. White bass excellent on CC Spoons at 17-35 ft. near drop-offs in creek channels. Crappie fair off docks early morning and on white/chartreuse jigs around brush piles. Bass being caught on smaller crankbaits in perch and chartreuse/pearl patterns, shaky heads, tube jigs and jerk baits. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Elevation 4 3/4 ft. below normal, stained, algae bloom bad on calm days. Bass being caught on shaky head jigs, crankbaits, drop-shot rigs and bass jigs off rocky banks and bluffs. Hydrilla bed off pavilion point has been good using drop-shot rigs. Crappie slow off docks and good on chartreuse/white jigs at 25 ft. around brush piles. Elevation 4 3/4 ft. below normal, stained, algae bloom present on calm days. Bass being caught on shaky head jigs, bass jigs and crankbaits in 6-15 ft., also good around outer edges of hydrilla beds. Crappie good at 25 ft. of water around brush piles, crappie slow around docks. White bass excellent. White bass fair to good on small grubs and CC spoons in 35 ft. water near creek channel bends. Elevation 4 1/2 ft. below normal, water 63 and stained. Algae bloom in backs of creeks and coves in shallow water. Hydrilla beds holding lots of different species of fish. Crappie and white bass being caught on small grubs and jigs. Bass being caught on flukes and crankbaits around the hydrilla beds and on crankbaits in shad patterns, shakey head worms and jigs along bluff banks and up creek arms. Crappie slow around docks and fair on minnows or chartreuse/white jigs. White bass being caught on rattletraps, long johns and small crankbaits at 12-15 ft. Sunfish slow on flies near the shores. Elevation 3 1/4 ft. below normal, water 78-81 and warmer upper ends of creeks. Bass good on pearl flukes, shaky heads, Texas-rigged eight-inch worms topwater early and late especially on cloudy days. White bass good long johns and smaller shad jigs while chasing shad. Crappie good on small chartreuse jigs at 12 ft. moving from the deep-water brush to shallows.
