3 fish caught | Lunker: 2lb Largemouth Bass using a Booyah Baits Spinnerbait

Lamorinda catfishing was fishing at the metal square dock directly behind the visitor center. Although Jackson caught an aggressively biting catfish the week before, there were no catfish to be caught in the 2 and 3/4 hours we fished. We planned to fish the east cove, but the nearest docks to the parking lot were all full. I ended up having the only luck as i drop shotted 2 bass and caught a little bit better bass on a chartreuse firetiger booyah blade spinnerbait. The bass bite has been progressively improving since the start at the summer. As I was reeling in one little bass, two big 7+ pound bass followed closely. Lamorinda catfishing plans to make the long walk to the heart of the east cove shoreline this tuesday.

8 fish caught | Lunker: 14lb Channel Catfish using a Chicken Liver

This report sums up the action this past week. I caught and released a big, fat catfish the friday of june 12th on rotten chicken liver that had soured in the sun. The liver was old and we could tell. I caught this cat on the main l dock. However, yesterday i fished in the same location but didn't get anything. My recommendation for catfish is the east cove, it has been consistent. Anyways, I also have caught some little bass this week by dropshotting. I used the aaron's magic color and the margarita mutilator color. Both colors produced. I caught them on the main l dock, the docks behind the visitor center, and the south end dock. No big ones, just dinks but still bass. I am very pleased and I feel the bass bite will continue to improve. I believe they stocked this week, 1,000 pounds of nice catfish. Going to go tommorow using worms for catfish and also bring my bass setup. It gonna be a good summer. Also, the water was murky but today i noticed that it was somehow a lot clearer and the water visibility, at least in my opinion, has improved drastically.

Lamocatfishing did hook up into a 10lb catfish in the east cove last weekend and lost another one that was a similar size. That was in the east cove, and it was a long walk. Sportfishingreport.com said the cats are near the tower this week, so we tried the dock by the dam-not a single bite from 5:30 until 9:00 pm. I was also going for bass, tried chatterbaits, texas rigged senkos in various colors such as watermelon/ green pumpkin and black with blue flake and pumpkin, texas rigged brush hogs and havoc pit bosses:nothing. Like I said earlier, this place isn't a good bass spot but it's possible. I am going to get a kayak. I did hook into a fat bass with the black and blue flake basskwondo flick stick but it came off the hook unfortunately, or the hook point inserted into the plastic didn't penetrate the mouth. I had a hard hookset. That was when i was working the worm slow parallel to the tule edges. I also had some little taps with the pumpkin senko but didn't get a good enough bite to set.
