JESS RANCH LAKES: There has been fair to good trout action in both lakes. PowerBait in rainbow, garlic, and salmon peach or nightcrawlers have been the best baits, with small jigs, spinners, and trout spoons the best lures. Quite a few limits this past week and some bigger trout are showing. The catfish bite is also starting and some good bass are being reported. The bluegill bite is also starting to improve. Robert de la Torre, La Puente, landed a 7.9-pound rainbow on a yellow tube jig, while Ed Correla, Apple Valley, had a six-pound albino catfish. Sal Garcia, Hesperia, had a 7.8-pound rainbow and a 4.3-pound bass. For more information call (760)240-1107 or go to www.jessranchlakesnews.com.
