Striped bass are the best thing going although the bite has slowed a touch. Bass from 12 to 25 pounds are being caught on cut bait. Smaller fish will take top water lures. Most of the action is near False River at the north end of the tract. Black bass are in a transition as seasons change. Bass will hit slowly-offered crank baits near rip rap. Punching will work, too. Stripers in the 19 to 23 inch range are plentiful. Some drift bluegill, others use Big Hammer swim baits. Black bass bite has improved. Bass are being caught from the shallows with jigs, Senkos or spinner baits. When the breeze is on the water go to jerk baits. Hook, Line & Sinker (925) 625-2441
