Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing was good trolling crank baits for white bass. Anglers who found them schooling did well using top water lures and crank baits. Fishing for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass was fair using tubes, jigs, jerk baits, top water lures and crank baits. Fishing was very good using chicken liver, crawdads and bluegill for catfish. We had no reports on other species. The surface water temp was in the low to mid 70s.

Caught 24 white bass using live shad. Tried hitting some largemouth but they we really shy. Only picked up on small large. White bass were biting pretty well along with some catfish. Water has gone done a lot since the last time I went n seems as if some fish may have lost their habitat.

Very slow, lake is in turnover and water level raised causing the bite to shut down. Had one strike on a booyha pad crasher and baitfish were nowhere to be found. (Fishing was fair using slab spoons and blade baits for white bass. Fishing for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass was slow. We had no reports on other species).
