I spent the weekend fishing El Cap and Otay, the fishing is really good at both lakes right now. There is a bunch of ways to get bites. If your looking to get a big fish El Cap is the best bet, it's full of biting 9 pounders at the moment. Otay has numbers of nice fish to be had. Look for the schooling fish busting shad there easy to catch. You can't go wrong with either lake right now. It's a great time to get on the water if you want to catch some fish. Good luck catch some big ones! This is a pic from the SD Open with a San Diego legend Paul Leader. We ended up in 9th place it was a ton of fun.

Water temperature is 77 degrees. The lake is open Thursday-Monday from 5:30am-8:00pm. The Marina is open until 6pm. Great surface bite for Bass in the morning with small spoons. Catfish has had good reports with some large ones getting away. Bluegill are fishing well with a few hand-sized keepers.
