Fishing this spring was slower than years past for bigger bass. The lake is very low and still dropping with no grass, as in years past. Most days we were able to catch good numbers of bass with smaller baits. 4" to 6" soft plastics and small to medium cranks in natural colors were my best producers. With the summer pattern emerging, the bass are not holding in shallow water much past sunrise. Once the sun comes up, the bass are moving deeper along points and sharper breaks. Note: The smaller fish sizes are not confined to just bass, but the cat fishermen are reporting legal size fish a problem for them. I did catch some nice size crappie this spring. Give me a call and let's go fishing. Teach 'Em to Fish Barry Dodd 210-771-0123
