Fishing really well for fly rodders! Buggers and Calibaetis seem to be working the best. Look for dry fly opportunities in the evenings and fish the Dam areas as well as the back side of the lake. As we get into August the fish tend to look up more for the bigger Terrestrials with Rubber Legs. Fish the Woods Creek Inlet or along the shoreline in the Emigrant Bay.

DFW this week planted 60,000 rainbow fingerlings and DFW intends to plant heavily in June. Caples Lake is only 3 feet from full and rising 4 inches every day. Fishing should improve as the temperatures warm up. (209) 258-8888

Still frozen at the end of April but look for thaw to be early this year. Ice Fishing is done, it is not safe to be on the ice. Fish the edges as they start to thaw with Streamers as well as the inlet areas. Macks like to cruise the edges looking for minnows!
