Very light fishing pressure, and the catfish bite has been fair and improving as things start to cool off all along the lower Colorado River. Top baits for the flatheads are live bluegill and goldfish. The canals are still pretty tough. The channel catfish bite is fair on cut baits. The bass bite has been fair on plastics and nightcrawlers in the backwaters, and in the main river the smallmouth are fair to good on small cranks, especially in the stretches with rip-rap. The bluegill bite is fair to good in most areas. Information: B&B Bait 760-921-2248.
