Very light fishing pressure, but the catfish bite has been fair all along the lower Colorado River. Monsoon rains again have muddied up the water in some areas, but it’s been clearing pretty quickly. Top baits for the flatheads are live bluegill and goldfish. The canals are as good as the main river. Lots of six to 20-pound fish reported. The channel catfish bite is also good on cut baits. The bass bite has been fair on plastics and nightcrawlers in the backwaters, and in the main river the smallmouth are fair to good on small cranks, especially in the stretches with rip-rap. The bluegill bite is fair to good in most areas. Mosquitos are bad so bring the bug juice. Information: B&B Bait 760-921-2248.
